Signing off

We went from having a threat of nuclear war, to a pandemic. If it was someone else, they would say the only thing remaining for this year is for the ground to crack open and Satan’s hounds to run around playing fetch with people. Even under these circumstances, the most important thing is to not loose stability. By stability, I mean the stability to think for yourself and not letting your head wander off in the darkness of chaos.

I developed this sense of stability, because of the things I’ve seen and been through. When I went through World War 2, liberating the cities and camps from Nazi control, I saw the senseless waste of life. I saw what humanity is capable of if nonsense is left unchecked and people start to believe it. My job as a US Marshall was an attempt at me trying to bring stability to the world by enforcing the justice. To me, those who have strayed far away from logic try to defy the society and sought to harm themselves or others. For example, at home my wife was schizophrenic and delusional, which is why she did horrible things. I disregarded this and ended up losing my children to it. I don’t want anyone else to fall into this trap where their minds to unthinkable things because they can’t think logically.

Many interesting people I’ve met have claimed that if you only talk about logical things, the world become dull and colorless, which is why you need emotions. My argument to that is that logic is a malleable and reliable tool to persuade anyone of anything. Emotion is a stronger and more extreme form of rhetoric. Once your mind is set on an emotion, it’s harder to sway your heart than it is to sway your mind.

I don’t argue for the end of emotion, but when it comes to major decisions like government, economics, social policies, we should listen more to logic and the experts. Doing so yields the best results possible for the majority. Due to this, there is an obvious minority that is formed, since nothing can be beneficial for 100% of the population. This is where emotion may be used to help in coming up with a middle ground between the majority and the minority.

No one should go through dark times to develop the ability to argue logically. This is why throughout my blogs and talks; I’ve helped people see beyond the nonsense fluffed news. You see with all this chaos that sometimes people might lose their way of thinking and search for a comforting lie. Through my analysis and talks, I try to talk about how people should come to their own comforting thoughts, which are logically sound. In this way, we avoid getting dragged into believing nonsense propaganda that pushes for a selfish agenda.

My message to all is like the one Beatles’ song, “Think for Yourself.” This may sound preachy, but when even the pastors have the agenda of making you donate to a cause, you can never truly trust anyone but yourself.

This is Teddy Daniels. Signing off.

Dedicated to Dolores, my dear wife.

Response to Scott (Week 8)

I don’t think this virus is a way of correcting humanity’s sins. I think it’s just my experience of living for this long, but I don’t like to hop on the “humanity is pointless and is cursed” trend. There are a lot of beautiful things to look forward to.

When you try to look at things from a logical point of view, you’ll start to see patterns in this world. What puts the humanity in this world is the emotions we add to these patterns. If you step away from the emotions for a second, you’ll see the pattern. The pattern is that this virus is just a strand of the regular flu, which is why a lot of symptoms align with that of the flu. The fact is that we do not have a vaccine for this strand yet, which is the reason for mass hysteria. The panic created by the exaggeration of the virus is just being used as a tool to push different political and corporate.

For example, I was talking about how Mr. Sanders took Trump’s words out of context, saying that Trump is advocating people to go to work as if everything was ok. While in reality, Trump was saying that people don’t report their illness and just stay at home or in most cases they go to work. This is why the mortality rate of the illness looks higher on paper, but in reality, it is less or as equally threatening as the common flu. Mr. Sanders was trying to make the point that people are going to work not because they feel ok, but because they don’t have the healthcare option to visit the doctor.

Although this applies to your condition heavily, I would say that regardless of the pandemic, this is every person’s mentality. If we all start rushing to the doctor’s for little things like cuts, bruises or a runny nose, then obviously the hospital will be overrun. In this way people would be exploiting the free healthcare that they might not even be paying for. Although this number is low compared to the people who actually need it and will only use the option if need be, it is still a huge point of argument against universal healthcare.

I’m not taking any sides, because I like to look at things logically and not go with my emotions, which is why I feel like the local government, not the federal government, should create subsidized healthcare for those in need (such as you). In this way it should be offered to the government employees, which would encourage people to get jobs and contribute to the society in a bigger way. To allow for this, we need to expand the bureau of labor to give it more power to hire and train those in need. I’m not expert in this field because I didn’t take much economics, but I do know that the solutions to the problems provided by the politicians are absolutely biased and useless.

Week 8 Post

Do you believe that there are a few people who are immune to being accused of the bullshit? Yes? Is Bernie Sanders one of them? Or does the left treat him like a god, just like the right treats president Trump as a god? The reason I say that is because I want to know whether people treat other politicians’ words with the same scrutiny as a select few politicians (like Trump).

Let me explain. I saw this post on factcheck.org about president Trump being demonized. The president gave an interview about the corona virus, where he said that the mortality rate of the virus seems really even though it’s 3.4%. His reasoning was that people who don’t have the severe case of the virus don’t go to the doctor and just go about their day and go to work. In this way, a lot of cases don’t get reported because a lot of people go to work and let their infections heal. In this way, the mortality rate should be lower, as the unreported cases aren’t being considered in this scenario. A logical argument, right? Maybe worded confusingly by the president, but it’s logical none the less.

Now a lot of politicians like Mr. Sanders, are responding to this by claiming that the president is saying, “doesn’t matter, go to work.” Now hold on a minute. Where in his argument did you hear the orange man say, “go to work?” This was followed by many other politicians saying, “don’t listen to the stupid things the president says?” I would’ve made a horrible politician, I tell you. Party politics is one thing but demonizing someone by taking their words out of context is just plain stupid.

I’m not defending president Trump, but I’m pointing out the hypocrisy. Sanders bent Trump’s words in order to prove one of his points, because he was trying to state that people can’t go to the doctors because they don’t have healthcare. You can not just change someone’s words to prove a point you have, while demonizing the person. This trend is just called scapegoating. Now I’m not saying that the president never says anything stupid, but when this is a pandemic. One should keep politics aside and try to keep the nation calm instead trying to mobilize it against because you are going against them in an election.

I’ve been a strong advocate of looking at things from a neutral stance and analyzing them to see what they are truly saying, and then arguing whether you align with it or not. This is a simple process to follow in order to avoid bullshit like this. What makes this type of bullshit the most dangerous is that it can defame you in minutes. No one can phrase things perfectly, which is why we need to think before we write or speak something. Thinking about the consequences or the interpretations of your statements is more important than making those statements. That is why I always advocate people to “use YOUR brain LOGICALLY.” Your brain handles logic and heart handles emotions, don’t lose control of your mind, because then people are free to say that you’ve lost your mind.

Response to David (Week 5)

*Sigh of relief* Aaaaah! Finally, someone has brought up THAT topic! I was going to approach this topic this week, but I had a more touching matter to talk about. That’s how much I’ve stopped caring about this whole politics topic, because I think it’s just men and women with a superiority complex who have a knack for arguing like the grandchildren I would’ve had.

What’s this topic you ask? The president got acquitted out of the charges that were pressed on him. David was upset at the fact that the whole trial was sham because people like Mitch McConnel didn’t even care about the evidence. Our president does seem really cocky about the whole situation though, as he should be. Now here’s my argument. This whole impeachment process was just a symbol of the terrible fuckups brought on by political parties, as our great ex-president, George Washington had predicted.

One of the folks at work showed me a really great show called “House of Cards.” It features that child molester, Kevin Spacey, where he’s a majority whip for the Democratic party. You know what a whip does? He whips his party’s members to be on the same page and tries to swing the other party’s members to vote against party lines. When I say “whip,” I mean “WHIP!” Have you ever been whipped? It makes you behave under the threat of harm done that could be or has been done to you. In a utopian society (or dramatic movies) you’ll see people rebelling against the whip and the whip holder. But you see, the human mind is not brave. Once it’s conditioned to think a certain way, it will always be thinking in certain ways, unless it has no other choice but to lose everything.

Now with that backstory and analysis, it’s time to respond to David’s displeasure with the fact that the party members voted with party lines. David mentioned the fact that some of his other farmer friends appreciate the solidarity between the Republican party to protect the president from getting voted out of the office. That’s one of the examples of the results we get when political parties are involved in the democratic and justice process. Obviously in face of the whip, you will surely bend to the will of the whip holder. In such a way I do agree with David that the president did strong arm the republican senators, but unfortunately that is the dirty nature of party politics. Now imagine there are men who are threatening to end your career, and not only yours, but also your spouse’s and harm your children’s potential careers as well. My question to you is, would you do their bidding or let your loved ones suffer just because you were too righteous in a dirty world.

Another argument that I have is that you can’t blame the whole party for playing party politics and exercising their powers in the game. In the parts where I live now, we see the red party as a mark of Satan. But you know what the blues did. They tried to flaunt the power they have in the house of representatives by trying to threaten the president with impeachment. Don’t tell me the blues were being the defenders or liberty and justice and trying to do the righteous thing by bringing up impeachment before the elections. Why did they wait just a few months before reelection to try to impeach the president? Because everyone knows a current president running for reelection rarely loses. We all know this person shouldn’t have been elected in the first place, and there was evidence to impeach him since day one. If you play the dirty political party game and try to impeach the president, you don’t have the right to get upset if the other party plays the same game and beats you to it.

Week 5 Post

Well I got sad news and happy news for you this week kids.

The happy news is that our county does have the capability to come together and take decisions that can make a difference in the better direction. Let me tell you what happened. So… today (Friday) the president signed an executive order to aid the efforts against human trafficking. There was a White House summit about the topic, which was organized by the president’s daughter. As a part of the new budget, we are going to be spending 400 million to help victims assimilate into society. I love the initiative to make better changes for our society, but if you ask me this is a small amount to address a nationwide and international problem. The trauma and grief the victims must’ve gone through is fucking unimaginable. There’s no price that can be put on something like that. This goes beyond just politics and numbers; it directly affects people and their lives. I believe that a person’s ability to life their life is guided by their experiences and how they shape them. Stemming off this belief, I feel that the victims who’ve had their lives taken away from them should be given a lot of resources to allow them to just be able to live a normal life.

Trauma and grief need time and resources, which is why I wanted to talk about this topic. I went through major trauma, and I deal with it everyday and every moment. Having the resources can mean the difference between making a life and breaking a life. Unfortunately for my wife, I could’ve done so much. I could’ve given her so many resources … but alas.

Another 50 million is going to be spent on the getting justice for the victims. This would be going to the justice department to expand it and give it more resources to track down rings of human trafficking.

I believe that it was a great move by Ms. Melania, because she invited many organizations and victims to speak out and spread awareness. I think that this was really important to do because the problem exists, and it’s hiding in plain sights. What surprised me more is not the fact that this problem exists, but that your neighbor could be into it and you may never even think of suspecting it. This is what makes it harder to crack down on this problem. What surprised me even more was when that funny guy Ricky Gervais called out so many actors for being friends with Jeffery Epstein. Speaking of which. What the fuck! Is no one going to address that? Epstein was involved in a child sex ring, and when he got arrested and was going to give his testimony, he carefully died? That just reeks of bullshit to me. This problem is hiding in plain sight and is getting bigger and bigger with the advent of internet, because there are more ways people can access the rings and create more market for victims.

Hearing the experiences from the victims helps others like us try to understand their trauma, and even if we can’t understand it, we can give them the resources of the space to rehabilitate themselves. The organizations also gave many examples and signs to spot possible victims, which can prove beneficial for possible victims who are seeking out help.

What bugs me most is that some organizations refused to come to the summit or accept the aid. The reason they gave was that they don’t want to associate themselves with politics associated with the moment. Can we step aside from our bullshit about being republican or democrat for a second and actually use our brains to think of what’s important and help the ones in need?

Response to Anthony Shemol (Week 3)

It’s nice to see man of law, like myself, around these parts of the web. First of all, I want to start by congratulating you on capturing that bugsy lunatic, who was about to shoot up the theater. I see where you could be in on edge with the whole gun control debate. As a man of law, I agree with you that that fire arm on your side makes you feel much safer when you’re enforcing laws.

The fact is that just because you and I have guns, doesn’t mean that we’re going to go to public places to shoot everyone. I’m sure you know that every crime has an intention behind it and every criminal has a motive. Without a motive your case doesn’t stand shit in the courts. That motive is what drives the finger to pull the trigger in high-risk civilians. You mentioned mentally unstable people, which I defined in my talk about gun control as high-risk civilians 2 days ago. I don’t get how everyone can go around honking the trumpet of gun control and blaming availability of guns as a leading cause of shootings.

I wonder how many people would die if a gun is place in the center of a table with people surrounding it? The answer is none, because a stationary object like a gun can’t kill anyone. I wonder how many people would die if a man with a gun strapped in his holster walks into a bar, grabs a drink and walks out? Here’s where it gets interesting. Just because he has a 44 on his hip doesn’t mean he’s going to kill someone.

You know how hard it is to kill someone? You know how much convincing you need to put into your heart, brain and soul to do something? I took lives as a part of my time in the 2nd world war. I couldn’t raise my gun at anyone until I saw that if I didn’t do it, I would be run through with a bayonet. People just look over the whole story where there needs to be a reason for someone to be disturbed enough to kill someone.

The other argument people say is that guns make it easy for people to mass murder. So, you mean you would rather have someone kill less people with a knife than emptying a clip into a crowd. You know what I think? That’s fucking bullshit! It’s like saying I don’t have water so I would just prefer poison, because it’s the easiest to obtain right now. That’s so fucking stupid doesn’t it? Well so does blaming mental problems on inanimate objects. Instead of dealing with problems that lead to this disturbance that forces folks into animals, we’re going to blame objects that can’t move unless someone moves them, let alone kill anyone.

You know my buddy bought a muscle car the other day. He has those 8 cylinders that roar louder than a lion. That beast can move through the streets like a beam of light. He just has to drive through a crowd and you’d have the same casualties. The point is. The world is filled with objects than can act as vessels for letting out frustrations caused by mental illness like cars, knives, cars, bats, hell you can even use a chair if you were really disturbed. We can’t blame the objects for the harm we cause. Sometimes we have to man up and say to ourselves that people oughta take responsibility for their shit. You just can’t go around blaming surroundings for shitty things that people do. Blame yourself because you can make decisions. A gun can’t.

Week 3 Post

So there was a conference of mayors happening in Washington from February 20th to 23rd. There was a mayor, by the name of Lori Lightfoot, who was one of the moderators of the conference. She’s from Chicago, and she had a lot to say about the chaos happening up yonder. She mentioned that a few days before the conference, there was a shooting in a barber shop. A man came inside the shop, had a confrontation with the barber, and then went out and shot the whole damn place. She mentioned that there were 2 brothers – ages 11 and 12 – who were getting their hair there, and they got caught in it.

Now as tragic as that is, the bigger tragedy is the blame game that these politicians play. She said, and I quote, “the bottom line is, there are way too many guns out there.” Well ok I guess my gun as being a part of US Marshall should be counted in it as well, which is why this whole story struck a chord close to my heart.

I think that defining this jackass term in your of “Gun Violence” in your dictionary and blaming it every time someone pulls a trigger is a bunch of bullshit. In my work as a Marshall, we caught high risk civilians, and brought them to justice. Now can any of you kids tell me what in the hell a high-risk civilian is? It means a person who is not fit to be in American society because they’ve severe violent tendencies or history with hurting the peace in the society. They are unfit for the society because they are too dangerous to everyone’s safety. I know this better than anyone, because my wife was one of these people and I always turned a blind eye towards it. I got what I deserve for it, but you can read my background if you don’t know what I’m talking about. The point being that everyone, including them mayors, is turning a blind eye to an important fact. The criminal just didn’t come and start shooting like a hooligan. He had a MOTIVE. He quarreled with the barber and was upset about his conversation and shot the place in his anger or pain or whatever he felt. It don’t make sense to blame a presence of a firearm in his pockets with his action of shooting the place. He is a high-risk civilian.

Guns in the hands of high-risk civilians is the reasons why we have tragic headlines like what we saw in Chicago. What makes a man with a gun dangerous, are his intentions, not his gun. Look at me! Am I dangerous because the government gave me a firearm, and I must keep it at my side at all times? No! I would be dangerous and possibly cause headlines if I had sinister intentions. Guns are an outlet. So are knives. So are hammers. So are bats. Now we start blaming and banning those and now chefs are out of business, so are repairmen, so are baseball players. The fuck you gon watch on the weekends now? Tennis? Maybe you can use a tennis racket to murder someone, now would you make that illegal too?

I do agree that guns are a way to do the killing the fastest and most conveniently out of all the methods. But when your wife wakes you up saying she’s hearing noises from downstairs and your children are hiding in your bed. You wish would be holding a peace rather than a peace sign.

Response to William (Week 2)

I will be responding to William who takes about an anti-gay adoption bill.

The purpose of having adoption programs is to provide underprivileged children with loving homes and support systems. Denying same-sex couples the option to adopt goes against this very mandate of adoption programs. It is hypocritical of the very reason why adoption programs exist in the first place. Denying same-sex couples to adopt denies these children the opportunity to live healthy, full lives.

Every child deserves love. Every child deserves to be in a loving family. One with good values that they can look upto and follow throughout their lives. By denying them a house and a family, we’re taking away their right and opportunity at having a good future. Imagine ruining someone’s life just because there were people out there who don’t like who you fuck.

We’ve always had an issue in this country against discrimination. It started with slavery it went to land owning then it went to suffrage rights then it went to civil rights. All of these stem from discrimination which stems from hatred. Hatred stands against any values that we should follow

Deciding for other people is some seriously fucked. You know who else did that? The people I fought on the beaches of Normandie. Back in those days we considered same sex couples as taboo, but we didn’t decide that they have to die. Now comparing some stupid governor to the Nazis is bad, but its similar. I fought them on the beaches, and I will do them back home if I have to.

In short, this country is going far from its ideals that it started for, which is freedom and liberty for people to do what they want. Pursuit of happiness is one of the fundamental rights of a human being and taking away from is a crime against humanity. It’s ironic because me and all the brave men who charged those beaches were following men who were righteous, and we fought those who bred hatred. How do you expect to follow someone who breeds hate? You can be men of violence, but hatred isn’t an option.

These values of hatred are unamerican and we can’t have that here. When I charged the beaches, I did it for what I stood for, which was America and freedom. Limiting the freedom of someone who is a citizen of this great nation is not constitutional. How do you expect to follow someone or even vote for someone who could think in unamerican ways. What stops us from resorting back to a dictatorship? They breathe on hatred and propagating it. That’s how they win and all of our sacrifices are wasted in the sand and the blood we shed.

Not allowing same sex couples to adopt takes away the market for people to adopt. We have kids in orphanages, which means that not a lot of people want to adopt. This means that Taking away from this small market is not only illogical but also stupid.

Week 2 Post

Now all this talk about long range missiles and drone strikes is just a whole lot of coward talk. Back in my day, when I was in my prime, we charged those beaches in France like men. Like men determined to end evil. Men who knew they were charging into certain death, but they still had to because someone had to end the evil that was lurking in the shadows of Europe. Now mind you I’m saying evil, meaning those bastards in the Reich who thought they were superior to others, and could just wipe out entire people.

War… War is hell. But no … No no. War ain’t no hell. Hell is where sinners and bad folks go and get the punishment they deserve. Now in war … sinners get punished on both sides, but so do innocents. No! War ain’t no hell. War is worse than hell. When I walked through the gates of Dachau, which was one of the biggest concentration camps in Nazi Deutschland, I saw what no other man should. As we walked, there were just piles and piles of bodies stacked on either side of the path. Innocent women, children, old folks lying dead and freezing. Decaying with a rotten smell that spread across miles. They couldn’t burn them faster before we got there, so they would just kill them. Hundreds of them. This is what war gets you. It’s more than explosions, guns, and medals. It’s hell. Worse than hell.

Now you would think we were saints in the war, but no! That’s far from the truth. You know what we did after we found the guards who had already surrendered? We killed them. It wasn’t war at that point. It was cold blooded murder and unethical. I guess ethics go out that window when we’re talking about war. There was so much senseless waste of life on every side. It sure is worse than hell I’ll tell you that much.

All this talk about a war with Iran is bull-fucking-shit. Even after all this we’re still going back to another one? It’s true what they say: those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Now the inner patriot in me is always ready to die for his country, but the situation seems much deeper than “we’re going to war against evil.” We’re the ones who are creating the evil. Now I’m in no place to say that there is some similar funky business going on in Iran as it was in Nazi Germany, but acting on no evidence? Now that’s funky business on our side. In a meeting with the senators and congressmen, the president explained the circumstances and every single one of the congressmen said that they weren’t satisfied by the reasons. We laid down our lives on the beaches for something that meant so much to others, and if you can’t even convince a group of 100 people, how do you expect the whole country to face the horrors that come along with war?

Persona description (Week 1)

This blog is going to be written by Edward “Teddy” Daniels whose character is heavily based on the Andrew Laeddis from the novel ‘Shutter Island,’ which is written by Dennis Lehane (the novel was later adapted into a movie with the same title). He is a straightforward, no bullshit guy, with impressive defense mechanisms for responses. He speaks only when he needs to speak, and is reserved to himself, which makes him seem like he is brooding a lot (much like John Snow, but Daniels is actually good at it). Knowing his past makes a lot easier to understand why he is this way. He was born during the great depression in the rural dust bowl region of California, which is the reason for his slight accent. He served in the second world war as a part of the 67th infantry division. He was part of the division that helped liberate Dachau during the fall of Nazi Germany. This was a huge source of trauma for him for a couple of reasons. The division was a late in liberating the camp, because the Nazis were on scorch earth strategy and they increased their efforts of extermination. When they stormed the camp the guards had already surrendered their weapons. Upon seeing all the bodies, the soldiers rounded up the guards and shot them in cold blood. It had turned into something more than war … it was cold blooded murder. He blamed himself for not being able to save all those in the camp and their memory haunts him in his delusional episodes. When he came back, he became a US Marshall in Massachusetts. The trauma didn’t stop there; his wife had severe delusional and schizophrenia tendencies. She burnt down their house, killing 2 people in the process. She was never caught for the incident though. Daniels moved to a lake house with his earnings. When he was out on one of his assignments, his wife had one of the worst episodes and drowned their 3 kids in the lake. She was moved to a mental hospital, where Daniels never visits her, because he blames himself for everything and is in deep trauma and grief.

Long story short here’s Daniels’ description as interpreted by my friend: He’s an edgy boi because he’s seen and been through some serious shit
