Response to William (Week 2)

I will be responding to William who takes about an anti-gay adoption bill.

The purpose of having adoption programs is to provide underprivileged children with loving homes and support systems. Denying same-sex couples the option to adopt goes against this very mandate of adoption programs. It is hypocritical of the very reason why adoption programs exist in the first place. Denying same-sex couples to adopt denies these children the opportunity to live healthy, full lives.

Every child deserves love. Every child deserves to be in a loving family. One with good values that they can look upto and follow throughout their lives. By denying them a house and a family, we’re taking away their right and opportunity at having a good future. Imagine ruining someone’s life just because there were people out there who don’t like who you fuck.

We’ve always had an issue in this country against discrimination. It started with slavery it went to land owning then it went to suffrage rights then it went to civil rights. All of these stem from discrimination which stems from hatred. Hatred stands against any values that we should follow

Deciding for other people is some seriously fucked. You know who else did that? The people I fought on the beaches of Normandie. Back in those days we considered same sex couples as taboo, but we didn’t decide that they have to die. Now comparing some stupid governor to the Nazis is bad, but its similar. I fought them on the beaches, and I will do them back home if I have to.

In short, this country is going far from its ideals that it started for, which is freedom and liberty for people to do what they want. Pursuit of happiness is one of the fundamental rights of a human being and taking away from is a crime against humanity. It’s ironic because me and all the brave men who charged those beaches were following men who were righteous, and we fought those who bred hatred. How do you expect to follow someone who breeds hate? You can be men of violence, but hatred isn’t an option.

These values of hatred are unamerican and we can’t have that here. When I charged the beaches, I did it for what I stood for, which was America and freedom. Limiting the freedom of someone who is a citizen of this great nation is not constitutional. How do you expect to follow someone or even vote for someone who could think in unamerican ways. What stops us from resorting back to a dictatorship? They breathe on hatred and propagating it. That’s how they win and all of our sacrifices are wasted in the sand and the blood we shed.

Not allowing same sex couples to adopt takes away the market for people to adopt. We have kids in orphanages, which means that not a lot of people want to adopt. This means that Taking away from this small market is not only illogical but also stupid.
